Liechtenstein business and finance place in the European trade room Liechtenstein is situated between Switzerland and Austria in the heart of Europe. This tiny country with a population of approximately 35'000 persons has a close economic relationship with Switzerland. A stable political and social environment, a strong economy, the use of Swiss Franc as the official currency, a liberal company law and strict protection of secrecy for banks, lawyers and trustees helped Liechtenstein advance to be one of the best established and safest offshore and banking centres of the world. In Liechtenstein, domiciliary enterprises and holding companies (e.g. companies limited by shares) enjoy special tax privileges such as: a capital tax of 0,1% (minimum CHF 1'000.00 p.a.), no income tax and no net profit taxes. The cost to set up and register a company is very low (approximately CHF 5'000.-- or about US$ 3'000.--). The annual cost to maintain the company are about the same amount and include the fee for the Board of Directors, the representation address and taxes. |
